003

This is the third event in the workshop series, where we come together to learn, create, and raise funds to help volunteers in Ukraine.

Linoryt / Linogravyura

(ukr. linocut printing)

Have you ever created an artwork by cutting a piece of linoleum? We invite you to try linocut printing and experiment with lines, shades, colours, contrast and textures. Our tutors will share some findings about the history of lino carving art, its most prominent representatives in Ukraine and around the globe as well as its most common usage, including ex-libris, a small stamp used to “sign” books. From Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse to Vasyl Kandinskyi and Heorhii Iakutovych, linocut printing technique is one of the most widespread, giving the artist a possibility to express any most complicated ideas with just a piece of linoleum and a blade.

Materials

All the materials and tools will be provided and are included in the ticket price, so you’re free to take the tools home with you and continue your practise.

If you would like to print on your own item (e.g. T-shirt, tote bag) during the workshop, you are very welcome to bring it with you. Otherwise, thick paper will be offered to every participant.

Fundraiser

Please keep in mind that 100% of the income will be redirected to support Ukrainian volunteer organizations.

Further details will be shared on our Instagram page.

We will do our best to create warm atmosphere, where everyone can enjoy old Ukrainian music, homemade food, and a beautiful space.

Should you have any questions or would like to discuss your idea in advance, do not hesitate to contact us via Instagram.
