THE EMOTIONAL BODY: Intro to movement & connection with the emotional body

February 15 @ 7:15 pm - 8:45 pm GMT

  • Leader – ELLE FIERCE
  • Time – 7:15pm
  • Where – Stanley Arts
  • How much – £3 or Pay what You can

This workshop prioritises QTBPOC. No previous experience of movement needed.

The workshop aims to be an introduction to movement and connection with the emotional body. Drawing from non-traditional trauma therapy techniques and somatic dance practices, a guided improvisation is used as a base for exploration, supported by centred visualisation and a curated live soundscape.

This process is used to explore rooted emotion, translated through the physical body.

“: in connectivity”

Taking from the original workshop concept, this edition will focus on connecting the emotional body with a significant other; a friend, lover, partner, sibling or a non-human significant item/object of your desire; a photograph, a teddy bear, a special pillow, an item of clothing or a sculpture etc.

This workshop is part of our LGBT+ History Month Programme which includes drag makeup workshop, queering poetic form and a dive into dancehall movement workshop.
