TRANSMISSIONS PRESENTS: Time

July 31 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm BST

On the final night of Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, Sons we’re proud to present a screening of Garrett Bradley‘s critically-acclaimed documentary Time (2020), spanning decades in the life of mother and abolitionist Fox Rich as she fights ceaselessly to bring her husband home from a cruel prison sentence, all while raising their six sons.
Rich black and white digital photography continually blurs with intimate home video footage and diaries captured by Rich over the years in a film that seems to effortlessly illustrate the true cost of America’s carceral system, while never losing focus as an intensely personal capsule of a family and its matriarch as they endure in the face of unimaginable obstacles.

Impressing the evil and futility of carceral structures world over that we saw explored in last week’s film Starred Up (2013), Time is an essential and one of the best films of the 2020s.

Join us downstairs at Dalston Superstore for a truly remarkable film.

Desperate people do desperate things. It’s as simple as that.”

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.
Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
