Poetry workshops with Naila Dunleavy

July 27 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm BST

We are delighted to offer two poetry workshops with Naila Dunleavy, and these will provide a space for you to think about poetry on a deeper level and to connect with other poets.

These workshops are free and open to all, but spaces are very limited, so book now, and please let us know if you are unable to attend.

Poetry Workshops with Naila DunleavyWorkshop 1: ‘Reclaiming our Histories’ – over 18s only

Saturday 27th July, 11 a.m., 2 hours

You are invited to a  space that will be used to nurture, hold, share and celebrate ourselves. We will reflect on our heritage, what may have caused ruptures in our families and wider society in the present and over generations. We will use various ways to express ourselves, collectively honouring and reclaiming our ancestral practices with the hope that we can intervene and change intergenerational trauma and transform/heal ourselves and future generations.

You are invited to bring with you personal memories in relation to someone or situations within family (near or distant), aromas/smells, food/recipes, language or actual items that we will respond to.

Naila is an Integrative therapist, writer and artist working in private practice. She has a particular interest in identity, migration/displacement, individual, ancestral, and collective trauma, women’s issues with regard to autonomy, patriarchy, faith and custom/culture. Her project @migrantwomenhistories can be found on Instagram. She has exhibited at the Horniman Museum Tea Exhibition and performs spoken word, most recently at the Royal Albert Hall.
