Verses in the Round

July 25 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm BST

Verses in the round is a unique creative space for therapists, where  each week we will explore the rich depths that poetry can take us to.

Over the 8 weeks we will have the opportunity to bring our own work to share, as well as poems which have meaning to us. We will  look at how poetry and the work of therapy intertwines and connects on the most basic of human levels. Whilst this is not therapy, poetry, and all creativity is theraputic and we believe this will be a healing, and potentially very powerful experience for all participants. Particpants can attend weekly, or on a drop in basis week by week, and there will be a dedicated private facebook group where we can connect between sessions, and after the workshops, which we hope will grow into a thriving therapists community.

Led by a published poet who well remembers the nerves of standing in front of a room full of people as he attempted to make meaning from words this is a supportive, confidential and lovingly held space specifically designed for therapists interested in exploring poetry in all its forms. To keep the workshops as safe and supported as possible we will be limiting numbers, and it will be a trauma informed space.

The workshops will also include guidence on publishing and performing poetry, and it is hoped that at the end of the 8 weeks we will be able to publish our own anthology of poems. There will also be guidence on the specific issues therapists face when performing or publishing their own work from an experinced supervisior who has had to navigate these overlaps in their own public facing writing.

All attendees will  be invited to join the private Verses in The Round Facebook group where we can continue our poetic conversations between sessions, and after the workshops have finished.
