TRANSMISSIONS PRESENTS Tetsuo: The Iron Man (+short Sick Girl)
October 30 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm GMT
For the finale of Flowering Flesh, our season of body horror, we proudly present one of the greatest of them all, Shinya Tsukamoto‘s Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989).
When a metal fetishist is accidentally run down by a businessman and his girlfriend, their attempt to dispose of the body and move on with their lives is futile in the face of a curse that will transform their lives into a hell of twisted metal.
But before that, we screen cult short Sick Girl from Lucky McKee (May, All Cheerleaders Die) starring Angela Bettis as a socially awkward entomologist whose dream girl turns out to be even more obsessed with insects than she is.
Come for some of the greatest practical effects you’ll ever see, stay for two surprisingly romantic films about transformation through pain, and the pleasures of strange new bodies.
Find us downstairs at Dalston Superstore for a night at the movies covered in chrome and slick with mysterious goo.
Our love can destroy this whole fucking world!
Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.
Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
